Augustin E. Ternoir, Esq.

Owner, Lead Attorney

At TernoirLaw P.C., our commitment to justice is personal—and it starts with our founder, Augustin Ternoir. As a licensed New Mexico attorney since September 2024, Augustin brings a sharp intellect, deep compassion, and a mission-driven mindset to every case. He founded this firm with one goal in mind: to provide accessible, respectful, and solutions-oriented legal services to people from all walks of life.

Whether helping a client pursue a criminal record expungement, guiding someone through a legal name change, or fighting for justice in a personal injury matter, Augustin approaches the law with diligence, creativity, and respect for each client’s story.

A Commitment to Service and Advocacy

Before establishing TernoirLaw P.C., Augustin actively contributed to efforts aimed at increasing access to justice. He participated in a public expungement clinic held on October 1, 2022, to assist individuals whose simple cannabis charges remained on record despite the passage of New Mexico’s Expungement Act of 2021. Coordinated by a coalition of attorneys, local organizations, and state agencies, the clinic successfully helped multiple individuals clear their records and take the first steps toward a fresh start.

This spirit of community engagement is a cornerstone of Augustin’s practice. His legal work is grounded in a desire to provide transformative services—especially expungements, pardons, and name changes—that can positively impact a client’s personal and professional life. By offering installment payments and flexible payment options, Augustin ensures these services remain within reach for more people.

A Passion for Learning and Advocacy

Augustin’s passion for the law is rooted in a deep desire to understand complex issues and to use that knowledge to support his clients. He believes in the power of continued learning—an outlook that informs his broad, research-driven legal practice. His services are crafted for those who need not just a lawyer, but a thoughtful problem-solver who treats them with care and respect.

Life Outside the Courtroom

When he’s not advocating for clients, Augustin is often found embracing the great outdoors. An avid rock climber since 2016 and technical diver since 2018, he finds peace and challenge in the mountains and deep waters. His adventures have taken him to Hueco Tanks and the Franklin Mountains for climbing, and Rock Lake in Santa Rosa and Cozumel, Mexico, for unforgettable dives.

A lifelong volunteer, Augustin has served his community through organizations such as Mustard Seed Café and El Pasoans Fighting Hunger, and continues to advocate for marginalized voices through both legal and charitable efforts.
